 Director/Founder,
Coach Denny Cooper, has been an instructor
at Carlsbad High School for 20 years, has
taught surfing there for 16 years, and was
named 2001 National Surf Team Coach
of the Year and 2003 Carlsbad Unified School
District Teacher of the Year.
The Carlsbad Surf Team has won numerous state championships under Coach Denny Cooper.

 Jake
Blackburn has co-directed The Camp for seven
years, is the Head Surf Coach at
Carlsbad High School and in addition, is
a Carlsbad High School counselor.
He was the 1994 National Surf Team captain and has over 20 years experience. Jake is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University. |
 Camp
co-owners, Louie and Brooke Swayne have
over 10 years of experience with YMCA
Youth Services, The Crossroads Children’s
Safehouse, and the Court-Appointed Special
Advocate programs for foster youths.
They have over 16 years of experience
as surf instructors.
Other staff may include
members of the past and present prestigious
Carlsbad Surf Team. All staff are CPR/First
Aid Certified and are hand-picked by Coach
Cooper.”
